New York City jewelry designer and artist Stephanie Albertson has been making unique objects for as long as she can remember. As a child who grew up in the US and in the south of France, she would travel with her mother to small villages, where she would meet artists in their studios, learn about their craft, and feel inspired by the possibility of living a fulfilling life as an artist. After studying art history in college, Stephanie moved to Manhattan to work at Harper's Bazaar and at the same time, she started her formal metalsmith training at New York’s Jewelry Arts Institute.
Stephanie's collection is inspired by vibrant colors, luxe textures, and highly-tactile materials. She combines her appreciation of classic jewelry principles with a modern and fresh point of view to create handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces with personality - collectible yet wearable treasures that can be "lived in" for a lifetime and beyond.
"I like to see my process in the final presentation of the piece – the bezel setting, the handmade nature of the chains, the mark of the artist. I strive for perfection in quality, materials and craftsmanship, and at the same time, there is something naturally imperfect that shines through in the finished jewel. That's where the beauty is for me." - Stephanie Albertson
We have been looking for a collection of fine jewelry that offered a bold variety of colors in refined silhouettes that would stand the test of time. We were so excited to discover Stephanie Albertson. We love how easy it is to wear the designer's pieces, which invite the wearer to bring color to her wardrobe and whimsy to her accessorizing. Stephanie's jewelry is surprising in an elegant way, and her playful silhouettes remind us that luxury can and should be fun.
