    MEET THE DESIGNER

After studying cartography and geomatics and working in fields like architecture and engineering, San Francisco-based designer Sharona Wolff came to jewelry design and making later in life and studied under a Florentine master goldsmith. An unplanned, cross-continental move prompted her to embrace her new vocation as a jeweler and launch her brand Atelier Wolff. Her creations are heavily influenced by the metals and gems from Sharona's childhood, the symbols and techniques of ancient cultures, and the countries where she has lived and worked. Design and color are the driving forces behind the 22K gold pieces, and Sharona prefers the soft luster of cabochons to the conventional sparkle of faceted gemstones. Fusing many layers of symbolism, myths, legends, and techniques, she crafts a rich story that translates emotion and stimulates connection for all who wear the pieces.

We love the unusual coloring of this bi-color Nigerian tourmaline, which is framed beautifully by the two-tone setting embellished with granulation details.
